Founder/CEO
As founder of Redeeming Reins, many people ask why now. Why in my retirement years would I start a ministry? Why after suffering the devastation of returning two of our four children back to the Lord? Why not just relax and enjoy life with my husband of 38 years? I tried. However, when you completely believe that God has called you, resting isn’t rest until you obey. So finally Redeeming Reins was formed.
When I was 10 years old, I was given my first horse. She changed my life. Now with Jesus at the heart of our mission, help from volunteers, and the powerful bond between horse and rider, we want to make a difference in the lives of hurting children.
Brian Holman

Brian wasn’t born with the love of horses like his wife Jami. However, his love for any mistreated animal or child drew him rapidly in. Now his favorite place to be is at the 36 Bar plowing the arena on his tractor, feeding, cleaning, or doctoring his horses. He has come to understand the old saying, “the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man.” He has found a great peace in his relationship with the Lord and his work with the horses. Brian is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher who has been training and mentoring young athletes for many years.
Lisa retired from corporate America in 2016, after a long career in Human Resources, where she managed employee benefits for large companies, i.e. Southwest Airlines and Pioneer Natural Resources. Lisa has been married for 20 years to Ken, living in Granbury for 14 years. Lisa and Ken enjoy 6 children and 9 grandchildren. When she is not volunteering, Lisa stays busy with women’s Bible study, reading, traveling, art and gardening. Lisa grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana where she enjoyed church, barrel racing, trail-riding, piano and singing. Being involved with Redeeming Reins fulfills a lifetime dream of working in a ministry alongside children and animals. What better way than with her childhood love of horses!

Steven at just 11 years of age is an amazing young man who already understands what hard work is and just how to do it. He looks for the need and immediately jumps in to help. He has a special ability with animals and has become our go to here at Redeeming Reins. He is in the process of training our youngest Miniature Horse and she has become such a good student who just adores her new trainer/friend.
Volunteers
We also have some of the most amazing people associated with Redeeming Reins. Without them our mission would not be possible. These women and men have a deep love for our Lord and Savior and doing the work he has called each of us to do. They work with a love and understanding that radiates Christ and are such a blessing to Redeeming Reins and the youth who come into our barn.
